All participants should be at the parade starting area (Malvern Fire House) by 1 pm. Decorated bicycle contestants, youth sports teams, Scouts and Indian Guides/ Princesses should gather at the intersection of King Rd. and Ruthland Ave.

2010 Miss Pennsylvania - Courtney Thomas

Miss PennsylvaniaCourtney Thomas, Miss Pennsylvania 2010, is a senior at Drexel University, where she is studying Biological Sciences. Courtney is involved in the Drexel string ensemble where she received the honor of being a first violinist in the orchestra. 

Raised in Sigel PA, Courtney graduated from the Brookville Area High School in Brookville, PA in 2007.  Courtney is an accomplished violinist and has also taken lessons in piano, voice, guitar, and percussion.  Courtney will be performing on her electric fiddle for the talent portion in the Miss America pageant.

During her year of service, Courtney utilizing her title of Miss Pennsylvania to promote her platform, Don’t C.O.P.P. Out! Consequences Of Peer Pressure. The goal of this program is to encourage children and teens to make better decisions when faced with peer pressure.

Courtney is looking forward to extending her platform to the national level and incorporating the Children’s Miracle Network into her platform. As a 14-year-old, the Children’s Miracle Network financially supported Courtney when she was in a car accident caused by a drunk driver.

Courtney is also looking forward to her reign as Miss Pennsylvania and especially as she works towards becoming Miss America 2011. Courtney. We are pleased that Courtney is able to participate in the Parade today.
